Pro and Anti-slavery forces are unwilling to compromise

Picture
- Bleeding Kansas, Bloody Kansas or the Border War, was a series of violent events, involving anti-slavery Free-Staters and pro-slavery "Border Ruffian" forces, that took place in the Kansas Territory and the western frontier towns of Missouri between 1854 and 1858.

- The conflict was the question of whether Kansas would enter the Union as a free state or slave state.

- This began the actual violence between the north and south, this showed that people have started to resort to fighting to solve the issue over slavery, huge failure and leads to increasing amounts of violence
